New Solar Photovoltaic Crew in Masasi District
Landratsamt Enzkreis of Germany cooperates with Masasi District Council and Masasi Town Council to implement the project “Promotion of education and training through the use of renewable energies, the establishment of an Environmental Education Centre and CO2 compensation measures in Masasi”. The project will consist of solar photovoltaic systems installation, the establishment of the Masasi Environmental Centre and planting trees. The solar photovoltaic systems installation will be done at 8 secondary schools (Marika, Anna Abdallah, Chikolopola, Namombwe, Mkalapa, Chiungutwa, and Makong’onda), Chiungutwa Health Centre, Masasi District Council Hospital-Mbuyuni and Masasi Folks Development College.
One of the sustainability strategies of the solar photovoltaic systems that will be installed in Masasi District is building the human capacity on the installation and maintenance. TAREA has trained 16 persons from the respective institutions and villages. The class completed the training on 12.03.2022. To enable the crew to start working, TAREA has provided the trainees with starter tools.
